The Whiskers we loved.
navybar

This month I would like to take time to remember Uncle Whiskers.

Wiskers as a youngster.

(Above) Wiskers as a little one. (Long before I was thought of.)

(Below) Whiskers just before he got into mischief underneath the Christmas tree!

Soon to get into mischief!

Whiskers the elder.

As the elder of the family, 15 years old, we respected and loved him very much. In 1999 he lost most of his eyesight, and arthritis slowed him up, but that did not stop him from being an affectionate and lovable fellow.

Unfortunately last month (November 1999) he went outside to enjoy the autumn warmth and did not return. We learned later that a dog on the lose (shame on his owner) took him away.

Uncle Whiskers did not have claws either. Three strikes against him; he did not live.

Doggie owners please keep your beloved on a leash. Elderly cat owners, please be on the lookout for dogs and other critters that may enter the yard. Do not let this mishap occur to you.
